Still strange that it could work at 20 MHz but not other channel widths, hopefully this helps someone out in the future. Turns out it was related to the quality of the signal, as I moved the antennas to a better location and all of a sudden everything worked as it should. Can anyone suggest what might be causing the higher bandwidths to fail?

At least I'm getting some 5G connection now, but the AC88 should have full support for 20/40/80. If I force it to be 40 or 80 MHz then it fails to connect. I went into the router page and was messing around with the channel width settings, I finally got it working when I forced the channel width to be 20 MHz, whereas previously it was auto. is not showing up in available network devices, the cheaper ASUS PCE-AC56.
Okay I've narrowed down what the problem is. The ASUS PCE-AC68 is a 802.11ac Wi-Fi PCI express adapter which upgrades your. It doesn't appear to be a frequency/channel type issue because I can see the network just fine, I only can't connect to it. If it still does not boot, get a different RAM stick that is known to be good and test with that. If you cannot boot, move the RAM to another slot and try again.
In the absence of a more detailed error message, I am at a loss on what to do. First, disconnect any unnecessary devices (so have only motherboard, CPU, RAM, graphics card, power supply). I don’t think the issue is with the router, because my mobile phone can connect to the 5G network with no issue. I can see the 2.4 GHz network from the router and can connect to it with no problems. I keep getting the error message, “Unable to connect to this network” (Windows doesn’t give any more specifics than that so I am having a hard time debugging this).
